How did you pick up golf?

I picked golf up when I was six as I went with my sister and my cousins for golf lessons. Slowly, they dropped out one by one as they were not keen to continue with the lessons. However, I slowly developed a passion for golf and have continued ever since.

Why do you like golf?

Golf trains one’s patience as it usually takes 4 hours to finish a game. The adrenaline and accomplishment one feels after scoring a low round is an undeniably palpable experience.

How often do you practice golf?

I practice three times per week, but, during poor weather or examination periods, I have less practice opportunies. Nevertheless, I try to make the most out of every session and do my best to squeeze in some practice whenever I am free.

What are some challenges you have faced?

Since I am the youngest player in the national team who is also relatively skinny, I can’t drive the golf ball as far as my older counterparts. As such, I have to put in extra effort to improve my shots in order for them to land closer to the hole.

What is it like being a national golfer?

I feel deeply privileged that I have the chance to play with the nation’s best. In addition, the support of the national staff and coach allow me to better my game. The expectations may be high and the pressure may be great, but it allows me to up my game and keep up with my peers.
